Mike Corrado: Lyrics & Songs

Not Your Man

This is a song we used to do with the MCB in the early days. We used to have a lot of fun with it live so I reworked it for this. Special thanks to Dave Wood for doing all the guitar and bass parts. I met Dave back in 2006 for the Rehearsals.com shoot in Los Angeles. Since then he's been all over the world and the TV playing with acts like Hilary Duff, Lil Wayne, Jesse McCartney and tons more. I'm just glad he was in town long enough to help me work this tune. I also liked tracking it since it is one of tunes I got to play drums on.
I can’t wait forever but I’ll wait another day
Just in case I missed something you said
I’ve watched you burn your bridges just as fast as you can
So tonight thank God I’m not your man
You ain’t got no money and got no time
Seems you’ve brought yourself to the end of that line
When I saw you coming I should’ve ran
So tonight thank God I’m not your man
Tell me what you see when you look in the mirror
Tell me what you see when you look at yourself
I hope today its getting clearer
How you made my life a living hell
Today’s the day I realized
I was one of your many other guys
You collect your friends like matchbook sets
And then take them out, burn them up until the ends
Tell me what you see when you look in the mirror
Tell me what you see when you look at yourself
I hope today its getting clearer
How you made my life a living hell
